Beckley, WV – October 3, 2025 – The Beckley Sanitary Board (BSB) is advising residents and visitors of a temporary road closure on Ewart Avenue, directly in front of the Exhibition Coal Mine in Beckley. The closure is necessary for storm sewer replacement work being performed by the BSB stormwater utility.

Closure Details:

• Location: 513 Ewart Avenue, Beckley, WV 25801

• Start Date: October 6, 2025

• Estimated End Date: October 10, 2025

• Reason: Storm sewer replacement

During this period, Ewart Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Adair Street and the entrance to the Exhibition Coal Mine/Youth Museum. Local residents within the closure zone will retain access to their properties but may experience brief disruptions and will need to use alternate routes.

Detour Information:
Traffic will be rerouted via Exhibition Coal Mine Road and Adair Street. Detour signage will be clearly posted. Drivers are asked to follow posted signs, observe speed limits, and plan for possible travel delays.

The Beckley Sanitary Board and the City of Beckley appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as this infrastructure improvement project is completed. Efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience and finish the work as efficiently and safely as possible.
